Sorry, Stephen King: The Gunslinger is a Woman

Now that is a Big Fine Revolver

Eat your heart out, Roland Deschain…

Kahr Firearms Group Brand Ambassador Danyela D’Angelo and her Magnum Research BFR (which stands for Big Frame Revolver, of course) star in “The Gunslinger,” a short (and very clever) send-up of the classic Western showdown movie. But make no mistake: Danyela isn’t an actor who learned to shoot–she’s a shooter who’s a natural at acting, too.

What does this have to do with Stephen King? If you’re not a fan of his work, he authored a series of fantasy books called The Dark Tower about “The Gunslinger,” an itinerant regulator named Roland Deschain. Fans of the series who enjoy shooting are happy to suspend their disbelief when reading the stories, but some Dark Tower readers find King’s rather famous anti-gun stance cuts into their ability to enjoy the series. If you are one of those people, do what I do: While I’m reading, I just pretend Danyela is The Gunslinger. Once you watch this, you’ll see how easy that is to do!

  1. For a young lady at her age to be shooting like that wow I’m pretty sure she’s going to be knocking some guys out of the big league when she gets older keep it up girl you rock

  2. Could have used a historical consultant. NONE of what was shown in weapons, tack, and, especially clothing were available in 1874. Other than that, an interesting video. Gotta love girls and guns.

  3. Thanks so much for the article! Watch my social media platforms for more competition matches and… who knows? More videos?! – Danyela D’Angelo

    1. (Yes, everyone, this is the real Danyela commenting!) Thank you so much for coming by, Danyela–keep rocking!

    1. 1. No offence intended.
      2. Not worried about historical accuracy.
      3. Fun video.
      4. Go kick down a few doors aka “Dirty Harriet”!
      5. Stay well and God Bless.

  4. They use to say, if her looks gets her in the door, God help you once she’s there. One tough chick.

  5. Girls and Guns. Got to love it. If I was 45 years younger I would be be chasing her to the wedding chapel. But as an old man I was impressed with her skill. I love seeing more females getting involved with guns. I had been to Israel a number of years ago while in service. I liked the fact that Israeli women in the IDF carried and trained just like and with the men. And they were good. No free pass, they made the grade or didn’t.

  6. Dark Tower series was full of guns and violence.
Do not see any of the anti gun rhetoric in any Of those books!!
He did become Trump hater later in his last books. Always some dig or remark. Also He did not know Colt Woodsmans does not come in .38 cal.

  7. Weeelll, two little problems: In the late 1800’s, pants didn’t have hip pcokets. And her holster allows the revolver to sit too low in the holoster, inhibiting the fast draw because the thumb can’t reach the hammer to roll it back as the weapon comes out of the holster. And I agree with the earlier commenter who pointed out the video was marred by the unnecessary last shot.

  8. Nicely done but she’s obviously using reduced loads since there is zero muzzle climb when she pulls the trigger.
